Taking up jogging can seem like a daunting prospect, especially if you feel out of shape or unfit. The Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Sports Partnership Team will help you work towards moving from walking to jogging your 2 kilometers in just 4 weeks starting the 8th June.

What is a Couch to 2K?

Whether you've never jogged before or if you just want to get more active, Couch to 2K is a FREE and easy way of getting more energy and healthier in your local area.  Under the Restriction of Covid 19, 5 kilometer exercise limit, we don’t want you jogging in circles and decided that we would break it down to achievable targets. This is for everyone who would like to get from walking to jogging, but might be a little unsure on how to get started. Sometimes we are all very enthusiastic at the start and we can overdo it, feel defeated and give up when we are just getting going.  This programme works because it starts with a mix of walking and jogging to gradually build up your fitness & stamina.

Stay Apart Stay SafeAgencies and organisations involved in the delivery and promotion of outdoor amenities have welcomed the recognition of the importance of the outdoor recreation in Phase 1 of the Government’s Roadmap for Reopening Society and Business.

Outdoor recreation plays an important role in supporting the physical and mental wellbeing of society and people are encouraged to enjoy the outdoors while adhering to Government protocols and public health guidelines.
