There will be a mixture of online and offline events available to cater to the needs of every member of the community making it easy to #BeActive even from the comfort of your front room.
Sport Ireland, the National Co-ordinating Body for European Week of Sport in Ireland hope that this year’s event will inspire even more people than previous years and has funded flagship as well as local events run by the Network of Local Sports Partnerships.
Safeguarding 1 Online - Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness Course
We are delighted to be able to offer these workshops on line through Zoom video and audio conferencing service. All Coaches, Children's Officers and Designated Liaison Persons (DLP) must first complete the 3 hour Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness Course. Sports clubs in Dun Laoghaire Rathdown can now apply for COVID-19 Club Small Grants of up to €1,500 through Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Sports Partnership. The COVID-19 Club Small Grant Scheme is part of a series of COVID-19 related funding schemes from Sport Ireland, following the announcement of €70 million of funding by the Government to support the sports sector in response to the Covid-19 crisis.
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Sports Partnership are rolling out a new 4-week walking programme on Wednesday mornings at 11.30am for approximately 45 minutes starting on the 5th August. This programme will cater for all fitness levels, but in particular those looking to get back to activity and exercise. It will be a great excuse to get out, be active and make new friends.

Everyone in DLR challenged to take part in National BeActive Day on 28th June
Dun Laoghaire Rathdown is one of 29 Local Sports Partnerships in the country who are coming together to celebrate a day of physical activity and sport and want you to join in and be active.
Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Sports Partnership has been working hard to support all age and abilites to remain physically active to share in the enjoyment as well as the mental and physical health benefits of sport and physical activity.
International guidelines recommend children are active for at least 60 minutes a day and adults for 30 minutes a day, National BeActive Day is a fun and inclusive way of getting in your daily activity.
