According to event organiser and Community Sports Development Officer, Kevina Malone, “This event will help families get active by introducing them to some new sports and local clubs in a fun environment, at no cost.  All the activities on offer will be ones that you can pick up easily and where families can join in together including, old School games, Rugby, Fitness classes, Cricket, Calisthenics and many more”

She added, “We’ll have coaches on hand for each activity to help out and demonstrate to you – plus, activities will be indoor and outdoor, so the event will go ahead rain or shine!”

“Be Active in Ballyogan” is just one of many free or very affordable sporting programmes that will be organised by Ballyogan Sports & Physical Activity Hub. The Hub will not be a specific place or building – but rather a way of connecting people together through a range of sports and physical activities that are designed for the local community – and specifically for young people and adolescents.

Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Sports Partnership has recently secured funding through Sport Ireland and the Dormant Accounts to help us provide these sporting activities.
