The Balally COPD peer support and exercise group will launch on Monday May 13th 2019 in the Balally Family Resource Centre, The Scout Den, Wedgewood, Dublin 16. The aim of the group is to provide peer support and exercise for people with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and other lung conditions in a friendly supportive environment.
Anyone who is living with breathlessness due to COPD, asthma and related respiratory conditions, along with their families and carers, is welcome to attend. The vision is to provide a place for people with breathlessness to give each other encouragement and support while also taking part in specially designed exercise classes and learning how to best manage their condition through regular education sessions.
The group will meet every Monday from 11.45 am to 1.15pm from Monday May 20th.
This is a collaboration between COPD Support Ireland, DLR Sports Partnership, the Balally Family Resource Centre supported by the COPD outreach team of St. Vincent’s Hospital and HSE Community Healthcare East (CHO6). Siel Bleu will deliver the Exercise, COPD & Me programme.
