Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Sports Partnership is teaming up with The Irish Sailing Association and local sailing clubs to provide teenage girls with a chance to Try Sailing. This national initiative is being rolled out to open up the sport to those who have never tried it or those interested in finding out more about their local clubs.

For two days in May local sailing clubs will be opening up their doors to girls between the ages of 13 and 18 years old. A full session on the water will only cost €5 and there is no equipment or experience necessary. Each club will provide additional opportunities for students to go back for more and start on the ladder to pursue sailing as a personal sport.

The magic of this programme for school teachers is that students can give it a try in their own time and if a school would like to organise a school tour then do contact the club as many of them would be happy to accommodate you.

We would be very grateful if you could circulate this information to any students or teachers who may be interested and also place on your notice board. All details are included in the enclosed poster, but please do contact the Sports Partnership on 01-2719502 or email This email address is being protected from spambots.
