Community Awards 2011
The Community Awards are Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council's way of recognising the enormous variety of projects being undertaken by community groups and supporting and valuing community involvement in local neighbourhoods.They have chosen Active Citizenship as the theme for the 2011 Community Awards in order to highlight the critical nature of the work being done all over the County for the Common Good, more important now than ever, in our dramatically changed national landscape.
Entries this year will have three stages to the judging process:
1. Submission - Application Form
2. Project Visit - By Appointment
3. Exhibition Stand - County Hall
The project categories will include:
1. Little Citizens
2. Young Citizens
3. Older Citizens
4. Environmental Awareness in Action
5. Community Services
6. Sports in the Community
7. Arts & Culture
8. Volunteer Award
Volunteer Award
Please note there is no monetary award for this category.
The Award Ceremony
The prize giving and award ceremony will take place on Thursday 17th November 2011 at 7pm.
Completed Application Forms should be received no later than Friday 14th October 2011.

All entries (excluding the Volunteer Award) will form part of a public exhibition, which takes place in the County Hall in Dún Laoghaire from Monday 14th November to Friday 18th November 2011.
