UCD Research Study on Youth Mental Health

UCD and Headstrong

The University College Dublin School of Psychology and Headstrong the National Centre for Youth Mental Health are inviting sports clubs to participate in the first national study of youth and young adult mental health in Ireland.

The survey is being completed by over 10,000 young people aged 12 to 25 across Ireland. The research is particularly important as there is limited information available on the mental health and well-being of young people living in Ireland and the results will help us to develop services and supports that are specific to their needs.

Sports clubs throughout Ireland are now being invited to get involved with this research. Your involvement would require simply sending an email containing a link to the online survey to your club members on our behalf. If you agree to participate we will provide you with an email written for your members.

We are specifically aiming to recruit sports club members who are 18 to 25 years of age. We realise that in some clubs there may only be a small number of individuals who fit into this age group, however, if we managed to recruit even these few to complete the survey it would make a significant difference to our research.

Please note that the entire research process is confidential and individual participation is anonymous. Therefore, the involvement of your club will not be publicised nor will be it be possible to identify any individual participant.
