SUCCESS FOR LOCAL BOCCIA TEAMS!

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Sports Partnership entered two teams in the 2009 National Boccia Development League, organised and co-ordinated by Cerebral Palsy Sport Ireland and Development Officer Brenda Hopkins.

The Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown East Team comprised of 4 lovely ladies from Enable Ireland Adults Services in Dún Laoghaire, namely Lucy, Nicola, Cerri and Tracey, and, under the watchful eye of manager Bobbie Connolly, the four girls did very well in their league, winning one of their games. The author has high hopes for this team for 2010!

The Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown West Team was made up of Martin, Pádraig, Darragh and Des. This team put in some serious training all season, and the hard work paid off, as they have progressed out of their league to the All-Ireland Finals! These finals are to be held in Athlone in July...
