Cardiac First Responder Scheme
Funding for this once-off scheme has been provided through the Irish Sports Council and five clubs were selected by the Board of DLR Sports Partnership to receive an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) and fully equipped First Aid Bag. This scheme also included associated initial one-day training for six individuals from the successful clubs. It was only open to sports clubs based within the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown county area and particular consideration was given to applications, which target young people in areas of social or economic disadvantage.
The successful 5 sports clubs were: Shankill Tennis Club, Park Celtic FC, Blackrock Flyers Special Olympics Club, Wayside Celtic FC and Dundrum Athletic FC. All 5 clubs were presented with their defibrillators and first aid bags at the Child Protection in Sport Information Evening on the 21st April at the Stillorgan Park Hotel.
While there is no more funding available to re-launch this Grant Programme, DLR Sports Partnership are available to provide assistance and information to clubs wishing to purchase this equipment for their own club.

Grant awards under this scheme have been made through a selection process and the maximum overall grant available to a club/organisation was €500. Grants were successfully awarded to 21 sports clubs.
