rsz be active in ballyogan resized flyerDún Laoghaire-Rathdown Sports Partnership invite children, young people and their families to take part in the “Be Active in Ballyogan” Sports Taster Day on the 29th of September 2018.

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Sports Partnership are holding a FREE sports taster day on the 29th September from 2pm-4pm at the Samuel Beckett Civic Campus in Ballyogan.

The key aim of the event is to get all ages and fitness levels active, try a new sport, introduce them to local clubs and of course have loads of fun.

ballyogan sport hub 06The new Ballyogan Sports & Physical Activity Hub was officially launched today, Wednesday 25th July in the Samuel Beckett Civic Campus. A range of local agencies, community groups and elected members were in attendance to hear how this new Hub will work towards making the area an active and sporty place to be.

In seeking to ensure buy-in of the local community, the Sports Partnership and the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Children & Young People’s Services Committee carried out detailed research to identify the needs of young people living locally and the opportunities which the Hub might provide for them.

 

 

Be Active in Ballyogan

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Sports Partnership held a FREE  sports taster event on the 23rd September in the Samuel Beckett Civic Campus, Ballyogan. Just under a 100 people, kids and parents, participated in the activities on day. Activities included Judo, Ultimate Frisbee, Soccer, Yoga & fitness classes.

The key aim of the event was to get all ages and fitness levels to get active, try a new sport, introduce them to local clubs and of course have loads of fun!

According to event organiser and Community Sports Development Officer, Rachel Sinnott, “This was a very success day, local people took the opportunity to link inwith the clubs in their area and try out new activities available to them. This is the first of many community sports events that I have planned for the area.'  All the activities on offer were ones that you can pick up easily and where families can join in together.
