Sportsability Forum

The SportsAbility Forum is an inclusive and fully representative countywide structure that enables, encourages and supports the development and delivery of sport, recreation and physical activity for people with disabilities.

The key objectives of the forum are to:

• Assist in the development of a strategy for the development of recreational opportunities for people with disabilities in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown.
• Assist in the development of a strategy for the development of physical activity opportunities for people with disabilities in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown.
• Liaise with and support service providers of PE in schools and colleges.
• Produce an Inclusion in Sport Booklet, for dissemination to mainstream Clubs and schools in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown.
• Have representation on the Board of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Sports Partnership.
• Engage in and facilitate research specific to the area.
• Assist the Sports Inclusion Disability Officer with specific responsibility for this area.
