Your Personal Best Month is an exciting project encouraging men to stop making excuses and to engage in 30 minutes of moderate physical activity five days a week. The campaign is being supported by various sporting National Governing Bodies, who will provide information, advice and programmes for men who want to become more active with resources available at www.sportireland.ie/. The campaign is also being supported by the nationwide network of Local Sport Partnerships, who will provide practical support on the ground.
It’s recommended that adults engage in 30 minutes of moderate physical activity five days a week in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Research shows that men over 45 are amongst the groups least likely to reach that target, so Your Personal Best Month is a chance to move the dial.
Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Sports Partnership is one of 29 Local Sports Partnerships in the country who have come together to roll-out a 4-week physical activity plan for people with a disability ahead of “Fit for All”.
Fit for All is a national initiative aimed at increasing awareness among people with disabilities, families/carers and disability services on the benefits of regular exercise, healthy lifestyles and opportunities to participate within the local community.
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Sports Partnership would like to invite applications under its Club Participation Grant Scheme 2020. The purpose of this grant scheme is to provide assistance to sports clubs/organisations based in the County to develop or expand targeted participation initiatives and the provision of training for volunteers/coaches.
This Club Participation Grants scheme aims to support clubs, coaches and volunteers to develop greater participation among target groups as reflected in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Sports Partnership strategy. As such, for the 2020 grants scheme applications are invited for initiatives that will increase participation in sport and activity among girls/women and people with disabilities, especially within an area of disadvantage.
